CIVIL RIGHTS VIOLATIONS
Civil rights are foundational for the United States and for modern democracies. Civil rights grant citizens equal opportunities and protection under the law. These rights are given to everyone, regardless of sex, gender, religion, race, age, disability, sexual orientation, national origin, or other personal characteristics.
Such rights include the right to vote, right to free speech, right to a public education, right to a fair trial, or the right not to be discriminated against because you are a woman, gay man, or disabled.
